Version 0.5 (!)
Hello everyone, people!
Yes, I was a bit late with the release of 0.5, but nevertheless, I think that a lot of work has been done! It's funny that the level generation itself took hardly 1% of the time, but... The game has changed! And I will try to quickly describe its changes:
1) In 80% of cases, instead of pre-prepared rooms, there will be randomly generated ones. This greatly diversified the gameplay and brought more chaos, even considering that the generation is not particularly intricate. Monsters arrive from different points of the map, and your task is to fight back!
2) Now monsters have less lives! A very small innovation amused the game - now you do not need to hammer one monster for half an hour. One tank was replaced by many small damage dealers! Now it's really fun)
3) Some balance changes. The player has more health and more frames of invincibility. Butterbugs are now bigger and can't ram the player, revelers can now shoot multiple times, flies are slower, and howler projectiles are slower.
4) A lot of quality of life improvements! Now you can view the available improvements, more obvious character damage, more accurate hitboxes (I FIXED THE ISOMETRY AND IT DAMAGES NOT THE ENTIRE MOB SPITE, BUT PART OF IT)
5) More effects! Now the game looks much more juicy, there are transitions between locations, coins appear not just in the air, but fly out of opponents, now it’s finally clear that the levels are islands in the void, and not something purple and sandy...
6) Removed some nasty bugs such as non-working or broken artifacts.
Yes, even though the list is small, I can only compare this update with 0.3, which also shoveled the game a lot. This is the biggest update so far, and I'm going on hiatus again, this time even longer. However, not all things have been fixed yet, not all ideas have been implemented yet! Probably, in 0.6 there will be new monsters... Or generation types? Or upgrades? I haven't set myself a clear roadmap yet...
It was a big step towards the kind of game I want to see. And I will be glad to read your comments about the game, if any! What does this Sniff want anyway? Unclear...
